Cardiff Bus service changes from Sunday 3rd September 2017

From Sunday 3rd September Cardiff Bus will be introducing a number of timetable changes. 

Details of the changes are listed below, and timetables will be available shortly.

Services 1 and 2
Timetable changes to the Monday – Friday journeys and changes to the Saturday service 2 timetable.

Service 7
This service will be replaced by the new 13 route which will run across town connecting Drope, Canton, the city centre, Cardiff Bay and Sports Village.  Between the city centre and the Sports Village it will follow the current service 7 route.   

Services 8, 9 and 9A
Timetable changes to Monday – Friday journeys.

Service 9C
This service will be replaced by the new 54 route which will run between Cyncoed, Albany Road, city centre, Grangetown and Channel View.   

Service 11
This service will be replaced by the new 61 route which will run between Pentrebane, the city centre, Splott, Tremorfa and Pengam Green.  This now gives a through service right across town connecting Pentrebane, Fairwater and Canton to Newport Road and beyond to Pengam Green via the city centre.

Service 13
New route and timetable.  This service will run between Drope, Ely, Canton, the city centre, Cardiff Bay and the Sports Village.  There is no change to the current route between Drope, Ely, Canton and the city centre, but you will be able to enjoy one bus across town to Cardiff Bay and Sports Village.  If you travel to Cardiff Bay from Canton, then you can also use routes 1 and 2.

Services 21 and 23
Minor timetable changes to Monday – Friday and Saturday journeys.

Service 24
Timetable changes to Monday to Friday journeys from the city centre.

Service 27
Timetable changes to Monday – Friday journeys.

Services 35 and 36
New timetable with all journeys running as service 35 with service 36 route withdrawn.  Buses will run via Park Place and Cathays Terrace and not St Andrew’s Place or Senghennydd Road to keep a quick link from Gabalfa to the city centre.  This also means a half hourly service from Gabalfa to the shops at Whitchurch Road.

Services 49 and 50
Timetable changes Monday – Friday with a higher frequency - buses will run up to every 7 minutes. 

Service 54
This new service will run between Cyncoed and the city centre replacing current service 13 and then extending to Grangetown and Channel View in place of service 9C.

Service 56
The last journey to the city centre (19:13 from Penylan) and the last journey from the city centre (19:46) will be withdrawn. 

Service 61
New route and timetable.  Buses on this route will run between Pentrebane, city centre, Splott, Tremorfa and Pengam Green.  It replaces the current service 11 between the city centre and Pengam Green.  This now gives a through service right across town connecting Pentrebane, Fairwater and Canton to Newport Road and beyond to Pengam Green via the city centre.

Services 62 and 63
New timetable with buses running up to every 20 minutes as service 63 to and from Radyr.  Certain journeys that start or end at Danescourt will be numbered 63A (not 62).

Service 66
The last journey towards the city centre Monday – Friday (20:53 from Fairwater) will be withdrawn.

Services 92, 93 and 94
New Monday – Friday and Saturday timetables.

Service 94S
This service will run slightly later.

Service 95
Some journeys retimed Monday – Friday.  One bus per hour will run via Broad Street and the other will run via Ffordd Mileniwm (Asda/The Quays) to/from Barry Island.

Service 96 and 96A
Timetable changes to peak time journeys.

Service 96S
New timetable.

Services 97 and 97A
No changes to the timetable but buses will run via Hood Road (West Quay Medical Centre) and not the full length of Broad Street.

Service 98
New route and timetable.  Buses will not serve Asda Barry but will instead run via Hood Road (West Quay Medical Centre) and also via Park Crescent and St Nicholas’ Road.

Service X45
New timetable Monday – Friday.

Service X59 (Park & Ride East)
Extra journey added to Monday – Friday mornings, departing the Park & Ride site at 06:57.
