Cardiff Bus service 23 - Pantmawr Road Closure.

Tuesday 29th August 2017 for 12 weeks

Due to the continuing gas mains replacement work in Rhiwbina, Pantmawr Road will be closed in an easterly direction from the A470 junction to the junction with Rhiwbina Hill from Tuesday 29th August for 12 weeks. This is an eastbound one-way closure affecting service 23 only, the westbound direction and service 21 are not affected.

During this time service 23 will divert and a shuttle bus will operate as follows:

Service 23 Diversion
Buses will operate normal route through Whitchurch Village and along the western part of Pantmawr Road. Then at the junction of Pantmawr Road and the A470, they will turn right along the A470, then left into Ty’n-Y-Parc Road, then right into Pantbach Road and return to normal route.

Shuttle Bus
As service 23 will be unable to serve the eastern section of Pantmawr Road, Rhiwbina Hill, Wenallt Road, Heol Uchaf, Heol Llanishen Fach or Rhiwbina Village we will operate a circular shuttle bus that will run each day from Wenallt Road (The Deri) to Birchgrove via Wenallt Road, Heol Uchaf, Heol Llanishen Fach and Panbtbach Road, and return from Birchgrove to Wenallt Road direct via Pantbach Road. Customers can connect at Birchgrove either onto the diverted 23 service or the 27 for onward travel along North Road to the city centre.

Alternatively, customers in Heol Llanishen Fach, Heol Uchaf, Wenallt Road and Pantmawr Road can use service 21 for journeys to the city centre via Whitchurch avoiding the need to change buses.

Please see Cardiff Bus here for more info and maps of the diversion.
