Standard bus stops will be use as per major sporting Event Days in Greyfriars Road:

T4, X4, 132  Stop GN until 20:00 hrs, GJ thereafter.

Buses on Routes A, B, 26, 132, 136, X4 and TrawsCymru T4 will operate through the Cathays Park area of Cardiff north central:

  • From 04:30 - 11:30 via North Road & Boulevard de Nantes.
  • From 11:30 - 14:30  via North Road - Column Road - Park Place.
  • From 14:30 onwards via North Road and Boulevard de Nantes.

Buses on Route 122: will run via North Rd and not serve Cathedral Rd until 17:30. After 17:30 normal route applies
122 buses will divert via Western Avenue, Gabalfa Interchange, North Road as above bullet points until 17:30

Buses on Route 124: will run via North Rd all day and not serve Cathedral Rd
124 buses will divert via Western Avenue, Gabalfa Interchange, North Road as above bullet points.

Buses on Route X3: will run via North Rd between 12:00 mid-day and 17:30 and not serve Newport Rd between bottom of Rumney Hill and the City Centre.
X3 buses in the afternoon will operate via the Eastern Inner Link Road to Gabalfa Interchange then as the bullet points applicable above.

Buses on X16: will run via North Rd after 12:00 mid-day and for the rest of the day not serve Newport Rd between bottom of Rumney Hill and the City Centre
X16 buses from mid-day will operate via the Eastern Inner Link Road to Gabalfa Interchange then as the bullet points applicable above.

Note: The Cardiff Airport Rail Link Shuttle Bus Service 905 to run in line with Arriva Trains Wales services (including rail replacement buses) on the Vale of Glamorgan line to/from Rhoose (Cardiff Airport) Rail Station all days.

BARRY ISLAND is served by the following public transport services:

  • Arriva Trains Wales: (NB. Rail replacement bus services on Sunday, 27thMarchonallValeofGlamorgan lines)
    • Cardiff Central – Barry Island.
    • Cardiff Central – Bridgend via Barry (10/15 minute walk over the causeway to Barry Island from Barry Station).
  • Cardiff Bus Service 95: (Cardiff – Barry Island); runs daily during the daytime, with reduced service on Sundays and bank holiday Monday.
  • Watts Coaches Service 100: (Barry Circular); runs Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays only.

Alternatively the following local bus services serve bus stops close to the causeway over to Barry Island (i.e. Park Avenue / St Nicholas Road on the Ship Inn gyratory); an approximate 10 minute walk.

  • Cardiff Bus 96/96A (Cardiff – Barry); runs daily during the daytime and evening, with reduced service provision on Sundays and bank holiday Monday
  • N.A.T. Service 303/304 (Bridgend – Barry – Cardiff); runs daily during the daytime and evening, with reduced service provision on Sundays and bank holiday Monday.
